Our Favorite Photos From The Magnum Square Print Sale

Photo by Randy Olson. All images used with permission.

The Magnum Square Print Sale ends this coming Sunday. It’s in collaboration with The Photo Society and features 120 photographic prints available for purchase. Before it closes, Them Frames is sharing our favorite images from the sale.

Magnum Photos And The Photo Society: Eden

Although we’re sharing a selection of our favorites, we encourage you to check out all the images available for purchase. They all come in a 6x6 print and will be sold as limited edition pieces for $110. It’s your opportunity to get a collectable item that you can enjoy for a lifetime.

The theme of this Magnum Square Print sale is Eden. “Eden, some say, was a garden where the first humans lived in harmony with an environment designed to help them thrive,” says Magnum president Cristina de Middel in a press release sent to Them Frames. She adds, “if that story is true, we’ve done a poor job keeping the garden tidy, rich, and clean”.

Eden is a way of highlighting how we can better connect to our natural world. It’s a way of celebrating what we have and how we can preserve it, not only to the advantage of humanity, but to the advantage of every thing in existence. We believe the images below best speak to the theme's objective - honestly, we could have featured all 120 pieces.

Bee’s are critical part of our biodiversity. We depend on them. Yet, people are quick to flee in fear whenever they’re around. We’d like to think this photo highlights how beautiful, and harmless they are. It’s a superb action shot as well.

The perfect framing of the subject within the sun is what makes this stand out. However, we’re drawn into the idea that the person is jumping out of the light, into the darkness, entering a world of the unknown.

The beautiful blur of the flowers in the foreground, offering a touch of vibrant yellow. We love how this adds a soft touch to the frame, while the strong, bold mountain in the background takes center stage. It wonderfully highlights the different textures we have on earth.

We find humor in this image. Like a group of sharks coming together to take an outdoor yoga class, as passersby peak at their session. But, we also love the balance throughout the frame and depth that it offers.

Everyone is hidden, yet all of them can be seen. This photograph offers as much mystery as it does clarity. The soft light is beautiful as well and we’re particularly draw to the idea of all animals, plus the environment working together.

A wonderful landscape photo that combines the man made with natural earth. The perfect illumination of the mountain is the stand out in this image and we couldn’t think of a more perfect shot to print and hang the wall.

They say connecting with nature is crucial if we want to relax and heal our nervous system. It’s clear the subject in the foreground has activated the parasympathetic part of their system. They are one with nature, and nature is one with them. It’s a peaceful, stable union.
